Follow along: Using Claude to "automate" Shopify SEO opportunities (Part 2/3)
Hey ,
In my last email, I broke down how I built an agentic workflow using Claude Code to automatically monitor our Shopify store’s SEO "Gap Zone" (those golden keywords sitting right on the edge of Page 1, aka positions 5–20).
Today, I wanted to share the raw data from Google Search Console after letting this system run, show you a massive blindspot it just exposed on our store, and detail our plan to attack it.
Where we stand right now
today’s

vs. previous

Looking directly at our store's 7-day performance data, the initial optimization work from our strategy is keeping us incredibly steady:
Total Clicks: 61 vs 37
Total Impressions: 5.38K vs 4.75K
Average CTR: 1.1% vs 0.8%
Average Position: 11.1 vs 11.8
Sitting at an average position of 11.1 means a massive chunk of our catalog is balanced precisely on the knife-edge of Page 1.
To see exactly where the fresh opportunities are hiding, the agent generated a new weekly breakdown. According to today’s report, our total gap zone keywords expanded from 1,023 to 1,073, meaning our organic footprint is steadily growing.
But the agent's summary report highlighted two massive stories we need to address immediately.
A 0% CTR Blindspot
The agent flag completely called me out here. Our absolute top gap zone opportunity right now are two keywords - keyword A with 1,611 impressions at position 11.37 and keyword B 461 impressions at position 9.75. Altogether, a cluster of 2,072 impressions sitting at a brutal 0% CTR.
The agent's diagnostic explanation was that no collection page exists on our store for this.
Even worse, the report noted this is the tenth consecutive cycle that the agent has given me this recommendation and I hadn't actioned it yet. Google is practically begging to give us traffic for these keywords, but because we hadn't built the dedicated collection page, we were leaving hundreds of high-intent buyers on the table.
Clustie, an AI and Audience Intelligence platform for Shopify brands, has launched the ✨free✨ guide "The CPA Playbook", a practical guide that helps online stores understand why customer acquisition costs (CPA) keep rising and what they can do to improve the profitability of their campaigns.
This playbook covers the most common acquisition mistakes, the relationship between CPA, ROAS, and AOV, and how to leverage first-party data to optimize Meta Ads campaigns. Clustie currently helps Shopify brands in more than 20 countries improve their performance through artificial intelligence and data-driven audience intelligence based on first-party data.
An overnight summer spike
The coolest part about automating this with an AI agent is catching seasonal trends before they pass you by.
The biggest story in this week's cycle was Keyword C, which suddenly appeared out of nowhere at #2 with 1,258 impressions. Nine days ago, this keyword wasn't even in our top 50.
When the agent clustered it with similar queries “keyword D” (147 impressions), "keyword E” (96 impressions), and "keyword F” (83 impressions), it uncovered a 1,584-impression cluster that emerged virtually overnight due to a seasonal summer demand spike.
What's Next: cracking top 3
Now that the agent has handed us these two massive opportunities (building a new collection page and capitalizing on the recently discovered summer spike), we have a new problem: How do we beat the stores currently sitting in spots #1, #2, and #3?
In the next installment of this series, we are diving into Competitor Analysis. I’ll show you how I use the Claude agent to instantly reverse-engineer the exact collection structures, word counts, and keyword density of our top page-1 competitors so we can steal their rankings.
Stay tuned
Ada
