Shopify Just Rebuilt the Way Collections Work

If you have ever spent more time than necessary trying to work around Shopify's collection limitations, or paid for a third-party app just to get your product categories to behave the way you needed, this update is for you.

Shopify just released its biggest collections revamp ever, and the core change is this: collections are no longer either automated or manual. They can be both at once.

You can now build one collection that automatically pulls in every product added in the last 30 days, hand-picks specific bestsellers to feature at the top, excludes pre-orders, and pulls live data from a bestseller app, all in a single collection that maintains itself as your store evolves.

Variant-level targeting is also live. You can now build a collection around specific colours or sizes, not just whole products. A red and pink Valentine's edit, an extended sizes promotion where only XS and XXL variants get the discount, a regional collection that triggers a different tax rate. These things previously required workarounds or developer time.

Tip: Don’t forget that your collection pages need to be optimized for SEO to attract organic traffic. Use Plug In AI to fix your collection pages in seconds, without an expensive consultant.

Collections can also now be built from other collections. Your Activewear page can pull automatically from your Leggings, Tops, and Shorts collections. When you update any of those, Activewear updates itself. No duplicate lists to maintain.

And Sidekick can now build and edit collections from a plain language instruction. Tell it what you want, review it, publish. The rollout is live for all stores right now.

📈 Growth Hack: Turn TikTok Into Your Discovery Engine

The brands winning on TikTok aren't chasing viral videos…they're using TikTok as a search engine that new customers use to discover them.

They’re posting 3+ high-quality videos each week, saying their brand/product names on camera, and using keyword-rich captions instead of hashtags. This makes every video a searchable asset that can drive traffic from TikTok and Google.

Weekly Challenge (30 Minutes)

Plan and script 3 TikTok videos:

  • One founder story.

  • One product demo.

  • One trend-based video.

Before publishing, mention your brand name out loud and rewrite your caption as a search query your customers would type. One small change today could keep bringing in traffic for months.

7 External Traffic Strategies. One question finally answered.

What actually moved your BSR?

Most eCommerce brands running external traffic can't answer that. Wrong channels, no real attribution, and at the end of the month, a dashboard full of activity and no proof of what drove revenue.

The brands getting it right aren't spending more. They've just stopped guessing.

They know which channels pull weight on Amazon listings, which ones look good in a report but bleed budget, and why creator and affiliate traffic consistently outperform paid social when it's set up correctly.

Levanta's free playbook breaks down all 7 strategies. Where each one works, where it falls apart, and what it takes to scale without it becoming a second job. If you're serious about moving your BSR without living inside PPC, this is worth 5 minutes.

Trend: Lymphatic Drainage Machines

Lymphatic drainage machines are showing up everywhere from wellness clinics to TikTok recovery routines. As more people look for at-home ways to recover after workouts, reduce puffiness, or simply add another step to their self-care routine, demand for these devices is climbing alongside the broader recovery market.

3 ways to cash in on this trend:

  1. Sell the outcome, not the technology: Most shoppers are not buying the technology. They are buying how they expect to feel afterwards. Your product pages, videos, and ads should focus on convenience, recovery routines, relaxation, and visible lifestyle benefits instead of technical specifications.

  2. Build a complete recovery collection: Instead of selling one product, create a recovery ecosystem around it. Compression sleeves, foam rollers, massage balls, recovery journals, reusable water bottles, stretching bands, and wellness planners all fit naturally alongside this purchase. Increasing average order value is often easier than acquiring another customer.

  3. Become the trusted educator: Higher-ticket wellness products require confidence before purchase. Help buyers understand who the product is for, how different machines compare, and what to look for before they buy. The brand that explains it best usually earns the sale.
