Same-day delivery available for Shopify merchants | SEO mini case study... the brand minting from an "unpeaked" trend

Happy Monday, Shopify legends! Ada here, back with a 5-minute edition to help you increase conversions with less stress.

Here’s what’s inside today:

  • Industry: Shopify merchants gets same day shipping with Uber Direct

  • Growth Hack: The Rule of Firsts for high-performing ads

  • Weekly Challenge: Create a thumb-stopping 10-second product video

  • Trend: Rucking Vests

Let’s get into it.

Industry: Uber Direct now integrates with Shopify

If you have ever wished you could offer same-day delivery without hiring drivers, renting bikes, or building logistics workflows, Shopify just made that possible. Caveat: it’s only available to Shopify Plus customers for now.

The integration allows customers to choose express, same-day, or scheduled delivery directly at checkout. Once the buyer places an order, Uber’s delivery network handles the rest.

This matters because:

Shoppers increasingly expect faster delivery and customers are more likely to buy again when they can track orders in real time.

Local stores get an instant advantage because staff can manage Uber pickups through Shopify POS.

Think flowers, birthday gifts, groceries, skincare refills… anything customers need today, not tomorrow

This update removes the operational burden that usually stops smaller stores from offering fast delivery. If your customers are local and you are on Shopify Plus, this update can genuinely increase revenue.

Growth Hack: Use the Rule of Firsts to create high-performing ads

If your ads aren’t getting enough attention, Social Savannah’s Rule of Firsts is a pretty interesting concept for a quick fix. It helps you simplify your message and hook viewers instantly.

  • 1st visuals: change scenes every second

  • 1st text: simplest product explanation

  • 1st testimonial: hold up the product, extra points for also holding something adorable as well

Weekly Challenge: Create a 10 - 12 second Rule of Firsts Product video

This week, set aside 30 minutes to record a simple short video using the rule of firsts. Your goal is simple.

Within three seconds, the viewer should know who the product is for, what problem it solves, and why they should care. Pick one product. Say one clear message. Show one strong benefit. Record, trim, add captions, and post it. One strong opener can become your next winning ad.

Trending Product: Rucking Vests

Rucking, which is walking with added weight, has become one of the fastest-growing fitness trends since 2023 that appears to peak every summer.

Search volume for “weighted vest for walking” has increased by more than 360 percent in 2 years and a single vest on Amazon earns > $3m per month. Celebrities like Guy Fieri and Lance Armstrong have boosted awareness, and creators are pushing rucking as a “realistic fitness routine.”

This is probably trending because it’s easy for beginners to start. it burns calories without high-impact cardio, and it works for city walks, commutes, hikes, and home workouts

Interesting use of SEO I noticed with this trend:

So I snooped around and found one (UK based) store that attracts 765 monthly visitors organically with a collections page optimized for the term “rucking backpack”, and 443 visitors monthly to another collections page optimized for the keyword “weighted vests”.

P.S If you’re looking to optimize a Collections page, Plug In AI is the best way to get this done very quickly.

Interestingly, they also create quite a few blog posts on the subject, which rank on page 1 of Google search results…

…and also have backlinks in strong publications like The Telegraph (if you want these, see our journalist/media opps newsletter every Wednesday)

How your store can benefit from this trend:

If your store sells fitness, wellness, outdoor, or lifestyle products, you can tap into this trend quickly.

  • Own the beginner SEO traffic before competitors do
Rucking searches are still fragmented, which means opportunity. Create a collection page optimized for terms like “rucking vest,” “weighted vest for walking,” or “rucking backpack” and one simple blog post: “What is rucking and how to start (beginner guide)”

Then link both together. This pulls in high-intent traffic from people already planning to buy, not just browsing.

  • You can also launch a “progression” product, not just gear. Rucking is habit-based. Create a 4–8 week rucking challenge (PDF, email course, or Notion guide) that shows: how much weight to start with, how often to ruck per week, how to avoid knee/back strain, etc.

Sell it for $9 to $19 or include it free with purchase to boost conversion.
