Best Buy announces its own marketplace in time for Q4

Last week, BestBuy announced that it had doubled its product catalog launching a new digital marketplace powered by Mirakl. This means that BestBuy is clearly chasing Amazon and Walmart by expanding beyond tech into lifestyle

If you’re in consumer electronics, home goods, seasonal décor, or even wellness, Best Buy Marketplace could become a meaningful channel for distribution… with the added bonus of physical retail support (returns + in-store staff).

Growth hack: How fashion retailers use quizzes to convert browsers into buyers

Quizzes aren’t just BuzzFeed fluff… they’ve now evolved into powerful ecommerce conversion tools.

Case in point: Bombas.

Their 6-question “Comfort Profile” quiz boosted email signups by 60%, and they found that quiz-takers spent 40% more per order than non-takers.

Why it works:

  • Personalization: Each answer maps directly to product features. For example, “Tight calves?” → Wide-calf options first

  • Psychology: Customers feel understood → higher trust → higher AOV

  • Engagement: 90 seconds of investment = a warmer, more primed buyer

Invest Alongside Kyrie Irving and Travis Kelce

A new media network is giving pro athletes ownership of their content…and they’re inviting fans, too.

That network is PlayersTV.

It’s the first sports media company backed by over 50 legendary athletes including:

  • Kyrie Irving

  • Chris Paul

  • Dwyane Wade

  • Travis Kelce

  • Ken Griffey Jr.

  • And more

PlayersTV is a platform where athletes can tell their own stories, show fans more of who they really are, and connect in a whole new way.

And here’s the kicker: It’s not just athlete-owned—it’s fan-owned, too.

PlayersTV has the potential to reach 300M+ homes and devices through platforms like Amazon, Samsung, and Sling.

And for a limited time, you can invest and become an owner alongside the athletes.

2,200+ fan-investors are already backing PlayersTV. Want in?

Weekly Challenge: Build your own quiz

Your task this week: Create a quiz for your store.

🛠️Tool to use: Use Outgrow templates (no code required)

Steps:

  1. Pick a theme → “Find your skincare routine,” “What’s your ideal desk setup,” “Which flavor fits your vibe”

  2. Keep it short → 5–7 questions max

  3. Map answers to product SKUs or bundles

  4. Add a lead capture form before showing results

👉 Publish it on your homepage or run a small paid test. Even 100 quiz completions will give you gold in customer insights + email signups.

Hyaluronic acid conditioner is giving the skincare a run for its money, thanks to the increased popularity of hydration boost haircare.

This is probably because hyaluronic acid can hold 1,000x its weight in water. It pulls moisture from the air and reduces dryness, frizz, and scalp irritation. Many formulas are leave-in, making them easy to use daily

📊 And there’s market proof:
Amika’s hyaluronic acid leave-in conditioner is pulling ~$1.1M/month on Amazon.

How Shopify brands can tap in:

  1. Bundle play: Pair HA conditioner with scalp serums, microfiber towels, or heatless curl kits → build higher AOV “hydration bundles.”

  2. Quiz play: Add a “What’s your hydration score?” quiz (see Growth Hack above) to recommend the right HA products.

  3. Subscription play: Pitch it as a monthly hydration system… conditioner + serum + comb → push Subscribe & Save.

That’s it for this week’s playbook… industry shifts, growth hacks, and products you can act on today.
